Meet the Maker: Alchemy Produx
One of my favourite candle makers I've ever met - Sara & Tristan. This funny, smart, business savvy couple are my mentor and they're fricking awesome. They have worked hard to be known as *the* flasks & beakers candles - you can find their awesome candles here.
Hello, how are you guys today?
Top of the world.
Tell me about your dogs, please.
Furry Kids. They run the house, Alchemy HQ and travel to every market Alchemy does around Australia. River and Cash are their names and beings bosses is their game!
Can you tell me something about Alchemy Produx that not many people know about? Maybe don't tell me a secret because this is totally going online.
Not many people actually know what Alchemy is, the defiantly is:
1.A form of chemistry and speculative philosophy practiced in theMiddle Ages and the Renaissance and concerned principally withdiscovering methods for transmuting baser metals into gold and withfinding a universal solvent and an elixir of life.
2. Any magical power or process of transmuting a common substance, usually of little value, into a substance of great value.
What was the scent of the first candle you've ever made?
Lily and Ginger. Gross. We don't have anything floral any more.
What's your favourite candle scent at the moment? What scent have you had enough of but can't bear to part with?
Favourite : Australia (Smells like a morning waking up on the Murray River)
Forced Favorite : Lychee & Black Tea (Has been our best seller from day dot, 6 years ago, and still going strong.)
What was the most beautiful thing you've ever seen/witness?
Tristan: Sara in her wedding dress, June 12th 3:45pm 2016.
Sara: Probably the Lion King at the theatre in London.
Did you ever pretend to be a DJ when you were younger and record songs with cassette tapes? Tell me about your experience.
Thats illegal. We would never break the law.
Any tips for anyone who want to start their own business?
Stop shitting yourselves and do it. If there is no immediate risk to anyones health or well being, there is really no risk at all. Believe us, there are shitter people than you making money doing their own thing than you.
